Preschool Program

The YMCA of Roanoke Valley, in cooperation with Roanoke City Public Schools, provide after school child care for pre-K participants. Our program gives children a safe place to go after school while their parents are working and offers athletic activities, varied indoor games and projects, story time, large and small group activities and more. Most important, the YMCA Magic Place Program enables parents to have a feeling of confidence that their child is being well cared for while they are at work.

The YMCA Magic Place offers a quality program in a safe, supportive environment that fosters the physical, social and emotional growth of each child. Children will experience the joy of interaction with their peers while guided in daily learning adventures by positive role models.

When school is closed for teacher workshop days, Christmas Holiday, Spring Break and even Snow Days, we provide a Special Program that is of no extra cost for participants. See details in Special Programs.

Roanoke City

Dates: Begins September 7, 2010 and operates through to the last day of school.
Time: After school - School Dismissal until 6:00 PM
Site Locations: Fishburn Park site is serving Fishburn Park, Highland Park, Virginia Heights and Crystal Spring. Fairview site is serving Fairview, Westside and Roanoke Academy, Round Hill, Monterey and Preston Park.

Cost: Preschool After School: $58/week (Sibling $52)
Preschool PM Punch Card: $150 (10 visits; Punch cards are not available at all Pre-K locations)
