The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. And the benefits are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.
Ready? OK! Your child will have fun learning basic cheer moves and chants with lots of emphasis on FUN. A small program will be performed at the end of the program to show families and friends what we’ve leraned.
Fencing is great exercise, safe and FUN. Our instructor is a skilled, competitive fencer who teaches values and sportsmanship through warm-ups, group skills, drills and partner practice. Competition is optional.
The YMCA knows basketball--in fact, we invented it! We help kids become better players and better people. Our basketball program is progressive with multiple age levels. We make sure that every child gets to play and that games are safe, fair and most of all, fun!
Our players learn to be “goal oriented” as they develop soccer skills through drills and games taught by experienced soccer players. Each Saturday session includes a team practice followed by an organized game in a non-competitive environment.
Our tee-ball program focuses on developing good players and good sports. Kids will learn the basics of America’s favorite pastime through throwing, catching, hitting and base running. Each Saturday session includes a team practice followed by an organized game in a non-competitive environment.
YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE
The Youth Basketball League is where kids learn character through competition. Young players get to play in a competitive environment with other league teams outside the Y while focusing on good sportsmanship and skills that will prepare them for the next level of competition.

Gymnastics is a fun way for you and your child to be active together. You’ll learn to assist as your child learns REAL gymnastics skills on the mini-trampoline, tumbling track, foam skill-building equipment and balance beams. Shhh, don’t tell the kids that these activities also encourage patience, sportsmanship, self-confidence and coordination too.
Our gymnastics program follows the Y Gymnastics and USA Gymnastics curriculum. Children learn progressively, in a safe and nurturing program that builds confidence, balance, strength and coordination. Our instructors are trained and skilled, with more than 40 years of combined experience.
Little ballerinas learn basic ballet skills, terminology, rhythm and coordination through creative movement and music in a supportive and fun environment.
In combo classes, students explore a variety of dance forms including tap, jazz and ballet. Basic exercises and movements are taught to help develop coordination and flexibility. Children may learn through skipping, hopping, galloping, ballet positions and beginning tap and jazz steps.
Little dance stars will love twirling and whirling all while learning basic dance moves that enhance fine and gross motor skills, cultivate imagination, creativity and social development. Students will grow and develop as they learn the fundamental vocabulary and skills associated with dance while having FUN.

YOUTH COMBO 1&2
Dancers get the best of both worlds in this class, learning both ballet and tap techniques. Students will also learn basic rhythm and tap choreography and the foundations of ballet.
YOUTH JAZZ AND HIP HOP
This upbeat class introduces young dancers to jazz and hip hop fundamentals and uses age-appropriate and non-suggestive music/movements. Take part in a high energy, fast and fun dance class.
